Successful Outcomes
The Winners Circle Goal-Setting Program has shown steady success since 1996 in helping students to learn the valuable life-skill of setting goals; helping students to become more motivated, productive and to take ownership over their education. The Winners Circle is proud of the success it has seen over the past 13 years in regard to student achievement through successful goal-setting and increased scores on district assessments.
To determine the effects of the Winners Circle Program on student learning, scores from the following three standardized tests were compared against a control group of Title I schools selected by the Omaha Public Schools Research Department:
- 3rd Grade District Reading Test
- 4th Grade Reading Criterion Referenced Test (CRT)
- 4th Grade Math Criterion Referenced Test (CRT)
2007-2008 Results: 3-6% higher “growth rate”
For the 2007-2008 school year, the comparison revealed that schools involved in the Winners Circle Program consistently demonstrated a 3-6% higher “growth rate” on the above tests over the comparison schools identified.

2008-2009 Results: 2-5% higher “growth rate”
For the 2008-2009 school year, this comparison revealed that schools involved in the Winners Circle Program consistently demonstrated a 2-5% higher “growth rate” on the above tests over the comparison schools identified. In 2008-2009, Winners Circle experienced the largest one-year gain on the 4th Grade CRT scores, gaining 9% in Reading and 5% in math.

Combined Growth for the School Years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009
When taken in combination, the two-year growth rate on this array of tests indicates strong growth in standardized test results for Winners Circle schools as measured against the comparison schools.
