What Parents are Saying
Thank you for investing in our children and many others!

I was also born and raised in Omaha so I get to see the positive and negative
changes here and in different communities that affect our lives. When I
was younger, around the age of my son and daughter, there seemed to be many
more community services open to us that were provided by either the state
or private organizations. Those groups were the ones that kept a lot of
the youth from steering in the wrong direction by using positive role models
and fun but educated activities. From those times to now there has been
a shortage of positive role modeling. It could be blamed on parents, the
music we listen to, or people that simply feel it is a losing battle. The
frustration has built up so much that we are on the verge of losing respect
for the people that would tell us the right things to do. I personally feel
that has all changed. With programs like CLC, Winners Circle and many more
outreach groups we’re making a comeback.

What Students are Saying
They help me reach my goals by encouraging me to reach them. I like when
we are writing down our goal and the goal buddies come to help us.

I like how Winner Circle shows you the importance of education.

At king I have learned how setting goals is important because setting goals
can help more kids have a brighter future. I’m going to set my goals
by graduating and then going on to a trade school to become a mechanic.
I really had to try hard to reach my citizenship goal, but I did it by listening
and learning. I want to thank my mom for caring, and Captain Bell for helping
the school, and I really want to thank Miss Treat and Miss Lemon for believing
in me. I also want to thank Winners Circle for believing in my class and
all of the children at King Elementary. Thank you.
